Usually there's already an idea – what's missing is the direction behind it. The language that helps other people see it too.

That's when I come in. To turn a new venture into a brand. To help an existing brand find its next chapter. Or to give a product a story people can care about.

Once the direction is clear, people inside can build with confidence. People outside understand why it matters.

I'm Nikolaus Ronacher.

Over the past 25 years, I've worked with global brands, founder-led ventures and public institutions.

Defining the direction is usually the beginning. I often stay involved to help shape ideas into identities, stories and experiences, and to ensure the work remains coherent as it moves into the world.

Each project runs with a small team. I bring together the people the situation requires, rather than working within a fixed agency structure.

Casa Portufornia is the place I built outside Lisbon. Some of my work happens here. And sometimes it's where the direction takes shape. A place designed to step outside routine. To create the distance needed for clarity.

When I get involved

You are building something new. A company, initiative, platform or venture.

The ambition is clear, but the positioning, narrative and identity are not.

I help define the direction, language and brand foundation others can understand, support and build around.
Your brand has evolved. The market has shifted. The ambition has grown.
New opportunities have emerged.

What worked before no longer explains where you're going.

I help redefine the positioning, narrative and strategic direction that aligns the next chapter.
The product is ready.

The challenge is helping people understand why it matters.

I help define the positioning, story and communication that turns a launch into something people notice, understand and remember.

What's next?
Let's have a conversation about what needs to become clearer. From there, my work begins.
